Maruti Suzuki has taken its time, in contrast to the majority of automakers that hurried to reveal their updated GST 2.0 prices earlier this month. There are several welcome surprises in the new ex-showroom rates that the automaker has just disclosed. Sharper-than-expected reduction have been made to a number of Arena models, extending far beyond slab-based advantages.

The Alto K10 and S-Presso have the biggest reductions among Arena models, both in percentage and absolute amounts. The Brezza is now much more competitive in the small SUV market thanks to a significant reduction of more than Rs. 1.12 lakh. However, at Rs. 46,400, the Ertiga’s cut is more moderate.

Under GST 2.0, Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa models have also seen significant reductions, even though these are the headline decreases for Arena cars.
